Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a removed or collected toner from leaking out to the outside of a cleaning device, by providing a member for sealing an opening part of a toner box, on the upstream side in the turning direction of an image carrying body from an abutting position of a cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION:In order to prevent a removed or collected toner from scattering and floating to the outside of a cleaning device, the cleaning device is provided with a leak-out preventive seal member 21 for the collected toner. This member 21 is formed by a film of 1-0.1mm thick, having elasticity of teflon, rubber, etc., extends in parallel extending over almost the overall length of a drum 20 on the upstream side in the rotational direction of a photosensitive drum 1 against a drum abutting position of a cleaning blade 20, and its tip part is allowed to abut lightly on the surface of the drum. An untransferred toner on the surface of the drum 1 is allowed to pass through, and it is prevented that the toner removed by the blade 20 and the collected toner scatter or leak out from an opening part 30 of the cleaning device. This seal member 21 is provided on the end part of a front face plate 25 by an adhesive means such as a double face tape, etc., so that the surface 31 opposed to the inside surface 20 of the blade 20 turns in the gravity direction.
