Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a toner from dropping and flowing backward and to preclude a photoreceptor surface and its other surrounding devices from staining, by providing a guiding plate which is able to move forward under a blade, when the plate is away from and faced to a blade and is separated from a surface of an image supporting carrier, at a cleaning time. CONSTITUTION:A blade 2 is provided with side part sealing member 22 of a flexible material at the both end sides and is fitted with a part 221 which is projected ahead from a blade 2 to the member 22 at the position in the outside of a region A of a photoreceptor image. The part 221 contacts with a top end of a guiding plate 6 pushed by a spring 21 and a small gap 5 guiding a toner upwards is formed. The toner ejected from the gap 5 is led to a lead screw 7 which is placed on the facing surface of the blade 2 and a guiding member 17 and on its upper side. In case of an inspection etc., a blade supporting shaft 10 is rotated clockwise and the blade 2 is separated upwards from a photoreceptor surface. When the part 221 is separated from the top end of the plate 6, the plate 6 gets rapidly into the lower part of the blade 2 by a counter-clockwise rotation of the shaft 21 and a bracket 18 with an action of the spring 21 and seals the small gap 5. At this time, a toner 5 staying in the gap is dipped up.
