Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the wearing-out of a brake pad by preventing the frequent use of a food brake by releasing overdrive or executing shift-down when the deceleration speed of a vehicle is over a deceleration speed previously set per time. CONSTITUTION:A throttle opening degree detecting device 1 detects the opening degree of a throttle valve, and sends an output when the throttle valve is at an idle position. A car speed detector 2 detects the car speed and outputs an output. When a shift lever is at a drive position, a control circuit 3 monitors if an overdrive switch is ON state or not. When engine brake is applied, the control circuit 3 detects said engine brake and monitors the speed signal supplied from the car speed detector 2, and it is monitored if the speed is in the previously set deceleration state or not. When the output is sent out, an overdrive releasing device 4 is driven to release overdrive, and speed change to the third speed is executed.
