Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance reliability in the r.p.m. control of a propeller by controlling the opening of an oxidizing agent control valve and a water control valve based on a detection signal from a turbine operating state detecting means. CONSTITUTION: When hexafluoro sulfur gas is supplied from an oxidizing agent tank 11 and a combustor filled with solid metal fuel (Li) generates heat, a boiler 1 heats up water supplied from a pump 8 to produce steam which drives rotation of a propeller 5 through a turbine 6 and circulates through a condenser 7. Based on the r.p.m. of the turbine detected by a detecting means 14, a controller 12 controls the opening of a water control valve 13 to keep the r.p.m. of the turbine at a specified value. Based on the steam temperature of the turbine 6 detected by a detecting means 15, the controller 12 controls the opening of an oxidizing agent control valve. Consequently, r.p.m. of the propeller of an underwater sailing body can be controlled with high reliability.
