Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily obtain the titled compound, having physiological activity, such as anticancer action, and useful as a medicine in high yield and purity, by reducing an alpha,beta-epoxyphosphine oxide derivative through nucleophilic reaction. CONSTITUTION:(A) An alpha,beta-epoxyphosphine oxide derivative expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, 1-12C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon residue, crosslinkable to form a ring and containing N or S in the backbone chain; R<3> and R<4> are <=12C aryl or alkaryl) is reduced through nucleophilic reaction to cleave the epoxy ring thereof and then passed through a step of conversion into (B) a beta-hydroxyphosphine oxide derivative expressed by formula II [Nu is atom (atomic group) introduced by the nucleophilic reaction] to afford the aimed compound.
