Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the heat leaking from a device to the periphery by forming a heat insulating material to the upper part of a fixing roller and mounting a vent port thereon. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating material 19 is fixed to the upper part of the fixing roller 11 and further, a cover 15 is installed to sandwich the air layer 20. The convection heat and radiant heat generated from the fixing roller 11 are thus suppressed by the heat insulating material 19 and the heat leaking from the heat insulating material 19 and the convection heat emitted from the fixing roller 11 on the base advance side are removed through the air layer 20 to the rear part of a heat fixing device by natural convection or forced convection. The heat in the upper part of the device is thereby suppressed.
