Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture an artificial patina excellent in film characteristics and adhesive strength, by impregnating the surface of an artificial patina layer formed on the surface of a copper material with a solution containing phosphate radical, silicate radical, aluminate radical, etc., and then heating and drying the above so as to form a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:Patina is chemically or electrochemically generated on the surface of a copper material to apply an artificial patina layer. The surface of this artificial patina layer is impregnated with a solution containing one or more kinds among phosphate radical, silicate radical, and aluminate radical by means of application, spraying, impregnation, etc. It is preferable to use an aqueous solution in which phosphoric acid, sodium hydrogenphosphate, sodium phosphate, sodium silicate, sodium aluminate, etc., are dissolved to about 5-100g/l concentration as the above solution. The patina film after the above impregnation is heated and dried at about 100-400 deg.C so as to be formed into a protective film. By this method, a long-life patina film having superior adhesive strength can be obtained.
