Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance initial adhesion between stainless steel and coated material and resistance to moisture and water by adding a silane coupling agent to a paint or an adhesive after phoaphating the stainless steel preliminarily and applying the paint or adhesive to the stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:Conventional phasphating process is applied to the stainless steel. After phosphating silane coupling agent is applied directly, or a primer or an adhesive incorporated with a silane coupling agent is applied to the stainless steeel. Natable effect can not be expected for the phosphating or silane treatment alone, is applied to the stainless steel. however if both are used together as mentioned above, a distinct effect can be obtained.
