Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent sticking from occurring at the time of plate making and print high-density images free of nonuniformity, by using a lipophilic resin as a heat-fusible resin in a thermal recording layer, and providing a lipophilic heat-fusible intermediate layer between the recording layer and a base. CONSTITUTION:In the case of providing a thermal recording layer comprising an inorganic pigment, a heat-fusible resin and a wax as main constituents on a base, a lipophilic resin is used as the heat-fusible resin in the recording layer, and an intermediate layer comprising a lipophilic heat-fusible resin as a main constituent is provided between the base and the recording layer. The amount of the organic pigment in the recording layer is suitably 2-7pts.wt. per 1pts.wt. of the lipophilic heat-fusible resin. The amount of the heat-fusible resin is suitably 10-60wt.% based on the recording layer. The amount of the wax is suitably 0.3-3% based on the recording layer. The intermediate layer comprises the lipophilic heat-fusible resin as a main constituent, and a wax and/or an emulsifiable resin and/or a hydrophilic high mol.wt. compound, preferably, a wax is added thereto, if required.
