Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent sticking from occurring at the time of plate making and print high-density images free of nonuniformity, by using a lipophilic resin as a heat-fusible resin in a thermal recording layer, and providing an under-coat layer based on an emulsifiable resin and/or a hydrophilic high mol.wt. compound between the recording layer and a base. CONSTITUTION:In the case of providing a thermal recording layer comprising an inorganic pigment, a heat-fusible resin and a wax as main constituents on a base, a lipophilic resin is used as the heat-fusible resin in the recording layer, and an under-coat layer comprising an emulsifiable resin and/or a hydrophilic high mol.wt. compound as a main constituent is provided between the base and the recording layer. If required, carbon black is added to the under-coat layer. The emulsifiable resin may be an unsaturated carboxylic acid resin, a vinyl chloride resin, an ethylene ionomer resin or the like. The hydrophilic high mol.wt. compound may be PVA, starch, casein, methyl cellulose, gum arabic or the like, preferably, PVA.
