Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical logic circuit such as an inverter or a NOR circuit operated by an optical signal, by using a part of a far field pattern of a phase synchronizing semiconductor laser array changed by the injection of an input light as an output light. CONSTITUTION:An input light signal is led to one end face of a phase synchronizing semiconductor laser array 7 oscillating in the phase synchronizing state through an input side optical fiber 1. The output optical signal is obtained by using an output optical fiber 4 from the part of the far field pattern of the oscillating light emitted from the other end face so as to extract the light. Thus, in selecting the injection current of the laser array 7 properly, a double peak type is obtained for the far field pattern of the output light, e.g., in the absence of the input light and a single peak form is obtained in the presence of the input light. Thus, an optical inverter or an optical NOR circuit is formed simply.
