Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely and easily carry out the denitriding treatment of an Ni-base super alloy, by using slag containing specific amounts of Al2O3, oxides of alkaline earth metals, titanium oxide, ZrO2, etc. CONSTITUTION:Slag containing, by weight, 15-70% Al2O3, 20-82% oxides of alkaline earth metals, and 0-40% of one or more kinds selected from titanium oxide, ZrO2, and oxides of rare-earth elements is prepared. Denitriding treatment is carried out by refining an Ni-base super alloy containing Al and Ti by using the above slag. It is preferable to carry out refining in an inert gas, such as Ar, or in vacuum. By this method, the high-cleanliness Ni-base super alloy reduced in N content can be obtained. Further, when CaF2 and CaCl2 are incorporated by <=about 30% to the slag, a m.p.-depressing effect can be provided.
