PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-cleanliness alloy remarkably reduced in nitrogen content, by applying denitriding slag in which respective contents of Al2O3, Li2O, titanium oxide, etc., are specified. CONSTITUTION:Slag containing, by weight, 20-70% Al2O3, 1.0-50% Li2O, and 10-80% titanium oxide and/or ZrO2 is prepared. If necessary, CaF2 and/or CaCl2 is further added by <=about 30% to the above Al2O3, Li2O, and titanium oxide and/or ZrO2 to carry out component regulation. The above slag is suitable for carrying out the denitriding treatment of a molten Fe-base, Co-base, or Ni-base alloy.
