Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce water slurry completely preventing dust, readily handleable, portable and storable, by dispersing crystal of 3,3'-dichloro-4,4'- diaminobiphenyl into a water system by using a nonionic surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:Crystal of 3,3'-dichloro-4,4'-diaminobiphenyl or a salt thereof is dispersed into a diluted aqueous solution of a mineral acid such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid and ground. In the operation, one or a mixture of nonionic surface active agents (e.g. polyoxyethylene monostearate or sorbitan trioleate) is adjusted to >=9, preferably 9-14 HLB and used to give the aimed substance as 30-60% water slurry. 3,3'-Dichloro-4,4'- diaminobiphenyl is useful as a diazo component for yellow diazo pigment such as printing ink or for coating.
