Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to effectively utilize energies at the time of combustion by providing a plurality of fire grates which partition the inside of the main incinerator body vertically into a plurality of stages, in a freely opened and closed manner, delivering charged refuses gradually downward while burning and discharging the same through the lower end of the incinerator. CONSTITUTION:Refuses placed in a hopper 1 are delivered to a first combustion chamber 3a of a main incinerator body 3 by a feeder 2 in a predetermined amount for each time, and are stacked on first fire grates 5 and 5. Refuses begin to burn by combustion air 11a, and the thus generated combustion gas rises up in the first combustion chamber 3a and burns again by secondary air 8. Preliminary drying of charged refuses is carried out and, at the same time, dried refuses are promoted to become sources for a fire. At a stage where combustion advances, first fire grates 5 and 5 are withdrawn from the inside of the main incinerator body and are allowed to drop bottom incineration residue onto second first grates 6 ad 6. Since lumps of unburnt materials are broken by the shock imparted at the time of dropping, the air permeability of incineration ashes stored in a second combustion chamber 3b is improved.
