Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress bending and twisting vibrations by fitting a mass to either of the periphery and bore of a ring-shaped recess between a hub and a belt groove through a resilient member, filling the gap between them with a viscous liquid, and by utilizing the cooperative action of this resilient member and the viscous liquid. CONSTITUTION:A damper 21 vulcanized fast with ring-shaped resilient members 18, 19 and thereover with a sleeve 20 is fitted in/on the bore and periphery of a ring-shaped mass 17 in its recess 16 and blocked with a cover 26, and the internal gap is filled with a viscous liquid and sealed fast. The resilient member 19 is going to move in the circumferential direction in twisting vibration of high frequency, and the encapsulated viscous body exerts damping effect. At the time of rotation, the viscous body gathers at the periphery by the centrifugal force, and the gap between the central resilient member 18 and the hub 12 becomes empty, and there is no hinder for the mass 17 to move in the radial direction when the bending vibration is absorbed. Accordingly both bending and twisting vibrations can be absorbed by the same mass, and all influence of vibrations is treated in a pulley, which enables effective suppression of vibrations.
