Abstract

PURPOSE:To make short the path of the light to the optoelectric transducer located between both electrodes as well as to improve both sensitivity and resolving power of the title image sensor by a method wherein a common electrode and an individual electrode are two-dimensionally arranged in such a manner that one of them surrounds the other electrode, and an illumination window is provided in the center part of the surrounded electrode. CONSTITUTION:A recessed and projected type individual electrode 7 is surrounded on three sides by a common electrode 6 which is contacted to a optoelectric transducer 4. An illumination window 3 is perforated in the center of the individual electrode 7, a luminor flux 21 permeats through a transparent substrate 1, passes through the illumination window 3, reflected by the manuscript surface on a transparent protective layer 6, and the reflected light is made incident on the optoelectric transducer 4 exposed between the electrodes 6 and 7. The distance between the exposed part of the optoelectric transducer 4 and the illumination window 3 is shortened, and as the illumination window 3 is surrounded by the exposed part, the light is evenly irradiated.
