Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A benzotriazolecarboxylic acid hydrazide compound expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are H or 1-8C alkyl). USE:An additive for functional liquids, such as lubricating oil, usable for electrical insulating, heat medium, rust preventing oil, etc., and having excellent metal inactivating action on a wide range of functional liquid media including substrates using an aqueous or mineral oil as a base material. PREPARATION:For example, a reactive derivative (ester or acid chloride) of benzotriazolecarboxylic acid is reacted with hydrazine to form benzotriazolecarboxylic acid hydrazide, which is then reacted with a reactive derivative (e.g. ester or acid chloride) of salicylic acid or alkylsalicylic acid in a solvent, such as diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, while heating at a temperature of preferably 50 deg.C- the boiling point of the solvent to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
