Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture easily a short electrolytic capacitor without weaving by winding an anode foil and a cathode foil together with a separator and by dividing the winding into two pieces to provide capacitor elements before or after impregnated with an electrolytic solution for driving. CONSTITUTION:Two anode leads 14 and two cathode leads 15 are welded to an anode foil 11 and a cathode foil 12 respectively. The foils are wound together with a separator 13 to provide a winding 17. Then the winding 17 is divided into two pieces to form capacitor elements 16 which are impregnated with electrolytic solution and set in a bottomed metallic case with the open end thereof sealed by a sealing rubber. According to this constitution, winding at high speed does not cause weaving because the anode/cathode foils and the separator are wide. A short aluminum electrolytic capacitor can be produced easily in this way.
