Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify constitution and to speed up the detection of a boundary by setting up an image pickup range corresponding to respective picture elements so that the brightness detecting value of each picture element goes to a mean value between a position whose brightness is locally changed and another position. CONSTITUTION:A mowing working car is automatically traveled while utilizing a boundary L1 between an unprocessed working place B and a processed working place C as a guide, the boundary L1 is detected based on the image pickup information of an image sensor S1 and the steering of the working car is controlled based on the detecting information. The image pickup range of respective picture elements based on the image sensor S1 is set up to a size partially including a position whose brightness is partially changed included in the unprocessed working position C or the processed working position C and the brightness detecting value of each picture element is set up to a mean value between the position whose brightness is locally changed and another position.
