Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the processing together with improvement of the reliability with an on-vehicle monitor device by segmenting the monitor areas in accordance with the drive of an automobile based on the original picture information corresponding to the scene in the set monitoring direction so that the undesired information is limited. CONSTITUTION:The system of an automobile drive controller is formed on the basis of a microcomputer MPUI connected with a picture input unit 2, an image memory 3, a display unit 4, a constant speed drive unit 5, a RAM 6, a ROM 7, etc. The unit 2 contains an exclusive microprocessor CPU20 as well as a TV camera 21, an A/D converter 22 and a buffer memory 23. The unit 4 contains an exclusive CPU40, a character generator 41, a CRT driver 42, a color CRT 43, etc. The an area including a part of an area corresponding to the automobile lane of a projected image is set and the occupying areas are arranged for each optical feature component. Thus the new threshold value is set for accurate detection of a fault, etc.
