Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a speedy black-and-white scan and a reduced-speed color scan by positioning filters of different colors on the reflected light path of the copied object in order and setting an adequate scanning speed corresponding according to the position. CONSTITUTION: The light from a fluorescent lamp 15 irradiates the copied object 14 and the reflected light from the copied object 14 is made incident on a photoelectric converter 20 through reflecting mirrors 17 and 18 and a lens 19. On the reflected light path, a frame-shaped slide 22 is provided and the aperture 23 of the frame-shaped slide 22 and the respective filters 24R, 24G, and 24B of R, G, and B are positioned in order on the reflected light path in order. The scanning speed of a carriage 3 when the aperture 23 of the slide 22 is positioned on the reflected light path is set faster than the scanning speed of the carriage when the filters 24R, 24G, and 24B are positioned on the reflected light path.
