Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve safety by disposing the evaporation part of a heat pipe in a vessel contg. a nuclear heated liquid and taking the heat of the nuclear heated liquid out of the condensing part of this heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:With this system, heavy water 16 in a reactor vessel 11 is nuclear-heated and this heavy water 16 is transmitted via a heat pipe 17 to an evaporator 20. Namely, the medium in the heat pipe 17 is evaporated in an evaporating part 18 by the heat of the heavy water 16 and is condensed by releasing heat into the evaporator 20. The medium evaporated to vapor in the evaporator 20 is then adiabatically expanded in an expander 21. This expanded medium operates a generator 22. After the work is taken out in the expander, the medium is cooled and condensed in the condenser 23 and is then returned to the evaporator 20. Namely, the heat of the nuclear heated liquid is transmitted through the heat pipe to the evaporator and the driving power or heat is recovered by, for example, Rankine cycle, etc., with this system and, therefore, the circulation of the nuclear heated liquid to the outside is obviated and the safety is improved.
