Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the free setting of an optical fiber length by disposing a light emitting element and light receiving element is such a manner that the prescribed hole position of the reference plane of a housing block and optical axis align. CONSTITUTION:An optical; fiber assembly 60 has the structure to enable a user to set a desired length of the optical fibers 11, 12 to be inserted into the housing block 60a. On the other hand, a data link body 70 determines the hole position of the reference plane of the housing block 60a at the time when this optical fiber assembly 60 is fitted and coupled. i.e., the position of one or both of the light emitting element 71 and light receiving element 72 contained therein in accordance with the optical axes of the optical fibers 11, 12 to be inserted therein. The ordinary connection and disconnection of signal transmission parts (communication paths) are executed through an electrical connector 5. The optical fiber length is thereby set as desired.
