CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photosensitive material spectrally sensitized with a sensitizing dye is exposed, developed, fixed and processed with a stabilizing soln. or washing water contg. a compd. represented by formula I (where M is H, a counter cation or amidino represented by formula II, each of R<1> and R<2> is H or an aliphat. residue, R<1> and R<2> may form a ring and m=2, 3 or 4). During the processing, a replenisher is used by <=2l per 1m<2> photosensitive material. The sensitizing dye is eluted to such a degree that no residual color is formed within <=90sec with an automatic developing device in which developing, fixing, stabilizing or washing and drying stages are carried out, so rapid development can be attained.
