Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to lower the pressure of fuel which is accumulated in a common rail by compressing the fuel which is supplied from the common rail by switching the fuel pressure which acts on a pressure intensifying piston using a 3-way electro-magnetic valve which is installed in each injector.
CONSTITUTION: An injector 2 is arranged in each combustion chamber of an engine. And each injector 2 is connected to a common rail 4 which is a high- pressure common piping with an accumulator. In this case a 3-way electro-magnetic valve 3 is installed respectively between each of the injector 2 and the common rail 4, and the 3-way electro-magnetic valve 3 is controlled by ECU 11 according to the operating state of the engine. And a pressure intensifying piston 23 is installed in the injector 2 as sliding freely. And the pressure intensifying piston 23 is made to slide by switching the 3-way electro-magnetic valve 3. Thus fuel of a pressure chamber 26 which is supplied from the common rail 4 is compressed and this compressed fuel is injected from a nozzle 29.
