Abstract

CONSTITUTION:When a sensor 3 is brought into contact with a target 20, calculating means calculates the accurate position and shape of the target 30 on the basis of signals of a plurality of contact type sensor cells for forming the sensor 3, and determines the moving distance of a manipulator for positioning a work mechanism 4. Accordingly, a worker may simply operate to bright the sensor 3 into contact with the target 20. Further, since the sensor 3 has a plurality of the cells, its detecting surface is wide, and is not necessary to be accurately aligned. Accordingly, the operation of contacting the target 30 is very simple without necessity of skilfulness.
