Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled structure useful for fishing nets, having high strength, dissolving and disappearing by leaving the structure in water for a long time, comprising multifilament yarns of water-soluble high-strength PVA fiber of high modulus of elasticity, having a tensile strength, an initial modulus of elasticity and a water dissolving temperature in specific ranges, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Plural multifilament yarns of water-soluble PVA fiber having >=10g/d tensile strength, >=150g/d initial modulus of elasticity and >=95 deg.C water dissolving temperature are used to give the aimed structure. In order to obtain the water-soluble PVA fibers, a PVA polymer having >=2,500 polymerization degree and 87-98mol% saponification degree is used as a raw material, the polymer is subjected to dry spinning to give undrawn yarn having excellent drawing properties and the undrawn yarn is preferably drawn in a hot gas at 180-230 deg.C at >=15 times draw ratio.
