Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce ceramic vessels easily with high productivity by casting a slurry prepd. by mixing specified proportions of uncalcined SrCO3 or BaCO3, together with Fe2O3, CaO, SiO2, a deflocculating agent, and water, by a slip casting method, and calcining the casted slurry under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:One pt.wt. water is mixed with 0.21-0.44pts.wt. SrCO3 or 0.35-0.5pts.wt. BaCO3, 1.8-2.2pts.wt. uncalcined Fe2O3, <=0.08pts.wt. CaO, <=0.05 pts.wt. SiO2 and a sufficient amt. of deflocculating agent basing on the amt. of Fe2O3. Then, obtd. slurry is casted to a desired shape by a slip casting method. By calcining then the casted body at 1200-1300 deg.C for 30 min-2 hr, a ceramic vessel is obtd. The obtd. ceramic vessel comprises a primary phase consisting of MO.6Fe2O3 (wherein M is Sr or Ba) forming magnetic field on at least an internal periphery thereof. It is preferably used for sanitary teacup, etc.
