Abstract
PURPOSE:To synthesize a superconducting material having minute particle size and high uniformity by mixing each alkoxide of Y, Ba, and Cu in an org. solvent having a specified b.p., hydrolyzing the mixture thereafter by adding water thereto, separating then the solvent from hydrolyzed product by reducing the amt. of water, and calcining the hydrolyzed product. CONSTITUTION:Y alkoxide, Ba alkoxide, and Cu alkoxide are weighed, and mixed in an org. solvent having >=100 deg.C b.p. Then, the alkoxides are hydrolyzed by adding water thereto, and the amt. of water in the solvent is reduced or reduced to zero by removing a part of the solvent by heating. The solvent is separated from the hydrolyzed product after cooling, and the hydrolyzed product is calcined. A superconducting material YBa2Cu3O7-x is synthesized by the calcination at low temp. by this method.
