Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve operation efficiency greatly by inserting respective parts of an optical connector into a guide rod previously so that they are movable, fitting the tip of an optical fiber in the tip end of the guide rod detachably, and sliding and inserting the optical connector parts which are fitted the optical fiber onto the guide rod. CONSTITUTION:When the tip end 3a of the optical fiber 3 is inside fitted in the guide rod 1 by abutting, respective guide blades 1b of the fitting part 2 of the tip 1a of the guide rod 1 are bent inward to reduce the diameter, and the respective parts 5 and 6 which are required to assemble the optical connector are inserted from the tip 1a. Those respective necessary parts are inserted onto the guide rod 1 and then the respective guide blades 1b forming the fitting part 2 of the tip 1a of the guide rod 1 are increased in diameter gradually, the tip 3a of the optical fiber 3 is fitted, and those guide blades 1b are returned to their original state, so that the guide blades 1b is outside fitted onto the tip 3a of the optical fiber 3 and prevents the optical fiber from falling from the guide rod 1. Then the respective parts 5 and 6 which are fitted previously onto the guide rod 1 are slid toward the optical fiber 3 in the optical-axis direction and fitted onto the optical fiber 3 in order through the fitting part 2.
