Abstract
PURPOSE:To accurately measure the residual stress of a relatively thick coating material by separating a holding material for a test piece and the coating material and executing a tensile test. CONSTITUTION:The holding material 2 made of a small thin piece which has the same adhesiveness to the coating material 3 with a base material and smaller strain due to a load than the coating material 3 is welded on adhered on a steel material 1 by spot welding, a both-sided adhesive tape, etc., to cover the coating material 3. Then this is dried and solidified or hardened and then the holding material 2 where the coating material 3 is adhered is peeled off the steel material 1 to obtain the test piece. Then holes are bored at both ends of the longitudinal direction of the test piece, the coating material 3 and holding material 2 are fixed by using screws 4, and a platinum electrode 6 is used as an anode while the test piece is used as a cathode to perform electrolytic separation, thereby separating the coating material 3 and holding material 2. Then the periphery of the fixed part of this test piece is clamped by a jig and a tensile testing machine is used to find the stress-strain curve, thereby measuring the residual stress.
