Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently control the temp. of a processing soln. to an appropriate temp. by controlling the amt. of a heating medium to be sent to a heat exchanger based on the temp. of the processing soln. in a treating vessel when the temp. of the surface-treating soln., etc., is controlled by sending the soln. to the heat exchanger wherein the soln. is heated or cooled by the heating medium. CONSTITUTION:The processing soln. or electrodeposition paint in the metal surface treating vessel or in the treating vessel 1 of the electrodeposition coating device is sent to the heat exchanger 3 by a pump 2, the heating medium in a heating medium vessel 4 is sent to the heat exchanger 3 by a pump 5, and the processing soln. or electrodeposition paint is heated or cooled therein by the heating medium to an appropriate temp. and then returned to the treating vessel 1. In this case, the temp. of the processing soln. or electrodeposition paint in the treating vessel 1 is measured by a temp. sensor 6, a command from a temp. controller 7 is sent to the motor 5 for supplying the heating medium to the heat exchanger 3 through an inverter 8 to control the motor and to send an appropriate amt. of the heating medium to the heat exchanger 3, and the processing soln. or electrodeposition paint is heated and cooled to an appropriate temp. The power used for the heating medium supply pump 5 can be reduced as compared with the conventional method, and the need for a bypass circuit and the branch valve for sending the excess heating medium to the circuit is eliminated.
