Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an information recording medium capable of stably operating a servo mechanism on the system side even in case of high-density recording by forming a recording film, a recording section of which is projected and deformed by selective heating, while the reflectivity of the projected deformed recording section is made larger than that of a non-recording section. CONSTITUTION:A bubble-shaped projected deformed recording section 3 is formed by selectively heating a recording film 2 shaped onto a base body 1. The recording section 3 is formed in thickness thin near 5 the apex of the bubble-shaped projected and deformed section and thick in the periphery 6 of a root. Light incidence to the recording section 3 is separated into reflected light A from the surface 3a of the recording film and reflected light B from the reverse side 3b of the recording film 3b while being transmitted through the surface of the recording film represented by B and reflected, and these beams of reflected light mutually interfere and display a synergetic effect, thus intensifying reflected light. Accordingly, the reflectivity of the recording section 3 is made higher than that of a non-recording section 4 in the information recording medium, thus sufficiently operating a servo mechanism on the system side stably even in high-density recording.
