Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce cost, to eliminate the deformation by heat at the time of recording and to improve reliability by providing a recording film, the optical characteristic or surface shape of which is changed by an energy beam, on a reflecting film formed on a substrate having track parts and further, providing a transparent substrate thereon. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting film 7 is formed on the substrate 6 having the track parts 2 and the recording film 3, the optical characteristic or shape of which is changed by the energy beam, is formed thereon. The transparent substrate 9 is further provided thereon. The reflecting film 7 is the film to enable the recording and reproducing from the transparent protective substrate 9 side by reflecting the light from said substrate side. The grooves of the track parts 2 are substantially straightly transferred on this film when the film is provided on said track parts. The transparent protective substrate 9 is not required to be provided with the track parts and, therefore, the substrate which has a specified thickness and is smooth is usable. Since the substrate 6 to be provided with the track parts needs not to be transparent, the width of material selection is improved and the difficulty in molding is eased. The molding cost is thereby reduced and the deformation of the track parts by the effect of heat is obviated.
