Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently expel the air in a fiber molding so that a defect-free reinforced member is obtd. by imposing the fiber molding on the base in a casting mold in such a manner that the bottomed vent holes directed from the surface to the inside of the waste metal parts of the molding are registered to the deaerating holes on the base of the mold, then pouring a molten metal into the mold and pressurizing the same to penetrate the molten metal into the fiber molding. CONSTITUTION:The inorg. fiber molding 6 is imposed on the base 5 of the casting mold 2 in such a manner that the bottomed vent holes 9 directed from the surface to the inside of the waste metal parts A, B of the molding are registered to the deaerating holes 3 of the above-mentioned base. The molten metal 10 is poured into the cavity 4 in the molds 1, 2 and is pressurized by a pressurizing plunger 11 to penetrate the molten metal 10 into the molding 6, then the molten metal is solidified. The air in the molding 6 is efficiently expelled from the vent holes 9 into the deaerating holes 3, by which the molding 6 body is made into the defect-less fiber reinforced metallic member.
