Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of short shot and sinkmarks and at the same time contrive to make the binder removing treatment more efficient by a method wherein powder to be molded in a body covered by specified polymer resin is kneaded and covered by polyethylene so as to be made into powder with double coated layer to be molded in a body in order to injection-mold the resultant resin-covered powder. CONSTITUTION:Low molecular weight polyethylene is used as bonder for an upper layer. Next, resin, which is insoluble in the polyethylene during injection molding and incompatible with the polyethylene and highly viscous under molten state, such as PMMA, polystyrene or the like is used as binder for a lower layer. In order to remove binders, a molded body is imbedded in highly heat conductive metal powder and heated up to a temperature, which is higher than the softening temperature of the polyethylene and at the same time lower than that of the highly viscous resin constituting the lower layer in order to melt away the polyethylene as much as possible and, after that, further heated up to the thermal decomposition temperature of the highly viscous resin in order to decompose the highly viscous resin. The preferable resin content to total volume is 40-50vol.%. The preferable mean molecular weight of the polyethylene in covering resin is below 5000. The preferable polyethylene content in the resin is 60-90vol.%.
