Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of an error in the control of a feeding position of a recording sheet, without any increase in burden on a main controlling part, by providing a means for controlling the feed-controlling position of the recording sheet being fed by a feeding means, separately from the main controlling part which controls entirely a recording operation of a recorder. CONSTITUTION:Discrimination of outputs from sensors 3a, 3b is not made when a recording paper is located at a recording position beta, and the discrimination is made after returning the paper to a preliminary feeding position alpha1 or alpha2. The states of the outputs from the sensors 3a, 3b are transmitted through an input port 13 to an MPU 21, which stores the states of the outputs respectively into preregisters 23a, 23b provided in a RAM 23, and discriminates between the presence and the absence of the recording paper on the basis of the contents of the registers at the time of starting the subsequent recording operation. When the recording operation is started, the paper is located at the position at which the preceding recording is finished. One of the recording papers 1a, 1b is selectively used according to determination of a recording paper size by a facsimile procedure.
