Abstract

1450842 Copying/duplicating; control XEROX CORP 29 May 1974 [30 May 1973] 23747/74 Heading B6C [Also in Division G3] A copier/duplicator wherein multiple operations are performed on copy sheets includes a control circuit which minimizes delay in commencing the next operation. The circuit, Fig. 6, incorporates NAND gate 303 coupled in a flipflop with AND gate 305 to form a latch circuit input 301 providing a system ready signal and input 307 a start print signal which originates from a manually-pressed button 51, Fig. 1 (not shown). Signal 311 from the latch circuit is inverted at 313 and passes to another NAND gate 317. If a suitable signal is provided on input 320 or 321, gate 317 provides output 331 which resets the latch circuit to commence a new operation. The circuit is exemplified in use with a xerographic copier and sorter which may print duplex copies; in this case a signal on line 320 indicates that one side of a copy sheet has been printed, and the sheet may be passed through for the second side to be printed; a signal on line 321 indicates that a sorting/collating operation is completed.
