Abstract
PURPOSE:To exercise control over sheets of paper, dispersed on a carriage path, corresponding to the ocurrence position of a jam, by providing the 1st signal generating means of sending a signal on the start of a copying proces, the 2nd generating means of sending a signal at intervals of time corresponding to the copying process, a multistage storage means, and a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:Paper send from a paper feed part 6 is ejected through the 1st carriage part 10, a transfer part 7, the 2nd carriage part 11, the 3rd carriage part 12 including a fixing device, and the 4th carriage part 13. When a paper detector 37 does not any paper, the operation of the paper feed part 6 is stopped and the process of copying a sheet of paper carried before the occurrence of a jam is completed. Once a paper detector 38 detects a jam, the paper feed part 6 and a photosensitive belt 1 are both turned off and processor copying sheets of paper carried before the occurence is completed. When a paper detector 39 detects a jam, the paper feed part 6 and photosensitive belt 1 are stopped and the operation of the fixing device 9 is also stopped to complete the process of copying preceeding sheets of paper.
