Abstract

PURPOSE:To bring the rolling pitch to be min. time and to improve the produc tivity by finding an allowable max. deceleration rate generating no slip between a rolled stock and table rollers. CONSTITUTION:The total length of a stand rolled stock 11 is detected, the number of table rollers 10 on which the stock 11 is put after biting and releasing by a rolling mill is found based on the above detected length and a preset spacing between each table roller. A friction resistance between the stock 11 and table rollers 10 caused by a weight of the stock 11 and a deformation resistance of the stock 11 are calculated. A braking force of the stock 11 is calculated based on the above calculation results; further, a max. allowable deceleration percentage capable of stopping the stock 11 with no slip is also calculated. Based on the deceleration percentage, the stock 11 is stopped in min time with no slip of the stock 11 by changing a deceleration percentage being given to the stock 11 after releasing up to a stop time of the stock 11 for respective passes of the rolling mill.
