Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn free from odd luster having adequate shrinkage difference among the single filaments with adequate bulkiness along with flexible touch, by using both small-denier and large-denier undrawn yarns mutually similar in boiling water shrinkage and breaking elongation. CONSTITUTION:First, a polyester is subjected to melt delivery through spinneret followed by take-up of the resultant yarn to produce small-denier undrawn yarn with a breaking elongation of 60-120%, boiling water shrinkage of 5-10% and single filament fineness of <=1 de and large-denier undrawn yarn with a breaking elongation of 60-120% boiling water shrinkage of 8-17% and single filament fineness of >=2 de. Thence, a plural of the undrawn yarns with heterogeneous single filament fineness are drawn; and at the same time, a heat treatment is applied on only the resulting small-denier drawn yarn to make its shrinkage lower than that of the resulting large-denier drawn yarn to afford the both kinds of yarn with shrinkage difference followed by combination, thus obtaining the objective combined yarn.
