Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately detect the position of a ferromagnetic material of an insert tube in a trachea by detecting an insert tube in the trachea having a metal band near the remote end by the use of a probe having one primary winding and two secondary windings.
CONSTITUTION: An insert tube 24 in the trachea includes a connector 26 placed outside of a mouth of a patient when the tube is put in a prescribed position, a hollow tube 28 is extended from the connector to the remote end part 30, and a metal band 32 is arranged in the vicinity of the remote end part 30. A general circuit 40 comprises an oscillator 50 and a driving circuit 60 for energizing a primary winding 70 of a probe 14 for producing an electromagnetic field, the probe 14 has a pair of secondary windings 80, 90 connected in series, and the output is connected to an amplifying circuit 100. The amplifier 100 is connected to a synchronization detector 110, the output is sent to the voltage/frequency converter 120, and the frequency output is given to a frequency dividing circuit 130 to supply power to a pair of driving circuits 140, 150 for controlling a light emitting diode 20 for warning and an acoustic warning device 160. A battery 170 is connected to a low battery voltage detecting circuit 180 and supplies power to a voltage regulator 190.
