Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate terminal treatment operation by improving outward appearance of the fringe part, by a method wherein after completion of foaming of a foaming layer, a cell is smashed by pressing a foamed layer by a pressing jib, in trim parts for an automobile where a core material is coated with a skin material comprised of a skin layer and foamed layer obtained through slush molding and an end of the fringe of the same is rolled in the backside of the core material. CONSTITUTION:A slush molding mold 17 is heated beforehand at about 220-230 deg.C, a mold surface 17a is caused to gel by sticking PVC resin powder to the mold surface 17a and a skin layer 14 is formed. The PVC resin powder into which a foaming agent has been mixed is fed onto the top, a foamed layer 15 is formed on the top of the skin layer 14 and a skin material 13 is formed. The mold 17 is cooled at 120-160 deg.C and a terminal 16 of the fringe of the skin material 13 is made thin by pressing the same with a press jig 18 of a heat resistant elastic body on the top side of the foamed layer 15 along an external fringe of the skin material 13. Folding-back operation of the terminal 16 of the fringe to the backside of the core material can be performed simply, terminal treatment is performed easily, formed into a sharp folding back line and outward appearance of the fringe is improved. When a mold temperature of the mold 17 is 160 deg.C or higher at the time of pressing, a void is apt to be generated within the foamed layer.
