Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the deterioration of a battery for backup feed by obstructing backup feed when the operation of a terminating set is stopped by the conscious interruption of a power supply. CONSTITUTION:A transmitter-receiver circuit 4 receives feed from a power circuit 7 through switches 6, 11. When the supply of DC voltage from the power circuit 7 is stopped by service interruption, etc., a first monitor circuit 5 changes over the switch 6. Consequently, the transmitter-receiver circuit 4 is supplied with electric power by a battery 8. When a terminating set does not have a backup feed function, a second monitor circuit 9 does not receive a signal from the terminating set on a receiving interface line continuously for the specified time or more, and a switch 10 is turned OFF through the AND circuit 11. Accordingly, feed from the battery 8 is stopped.
