Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency as well as maintainability of an electronic device by dividing 1 space inside the electronic device frame by partitions, wherein several straight cooling air passages, and blinds whose passage resistance varies with varying temperatures are formed so that air volumes in the cooling air passages can relatively be adjusted. CONSTITUTION:When a fan 11 is operated while operating an electronic device, cooling air flows smoothly through two cooling air passages 14a and 14b of a frame 10 in the bottom-up direction, thereby cooling a component 15 by taking away heat therefrom. The air volume and air speed are adjusted by opening and closing blinds 16a and 16b. The temperatures of the cooling air heated by cooling the component 15 are detected by sensors 17a and 17b located at the outlets of the passages 14a and 14b. When the difference between both temperatures becomes large, the passage resistances are reduced by opening the high temperature side of the blinds 16a and 16b, while the passage resistances are increased by closing the low temperature sides thereof. According to the constitution, the cooling air absorbed by the fan 11 flow to the high temperature side of the passage 14a or 14b whose passage resistance is lower at a large ratio, thereby encouraging the cooling. The component 15 projects from the frame 10 by opening an opening and closing door 18, thereby providing an easy working environment.
