Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce a still picture without duplicated video image with simple constitution by devising a pickup to trace a track repetitively N-time of circulations and using only a video signal of one field sectioned by a vertical synchronizing signal among N-circulation signals as a reproduced output so as to eliminate other video signal. CONSTITUTION:A vertical synchronizing signal VSYNC included in a composite video signal CV is extracted by a vertical separation circuit 32 and fed to a microcomputer 34. When a switch (not shown) is operated and a picture stop command is fed to a microcomputer 34, the microcomputer 34 stops a feed motor to stop the movement of an optical pickup 12. Moreover, the microcomputer 34 supplies a tracking jump command to the optical pickup 12 for each N-revolution of a video disk 10 based on the detection signal of a rotation detector 16 and turns an analog switch 28 to the position (b) only one field among N revolutions based on the vertical synchronizing signal to reproduce the still picture. The rotation detector 16 outputs one pulse every time a spindle motor 14 is turned for a prescribed angle.
