On the other hand, the reference signal generating circuit 13 produces the pulse train reference signal having the equal period as the horizontal scanning period in phase- synchronizing with the revolution of a drum. This horizontal synchronizing signal and the reference signal are given to the phase comparison circuit 14 and a control circuit 15, and the control signal is fed to a bimorph plate 7 to deflect the head 4 for a prescribed amount toward the direction in response to the time difference signal. Since the phase relation between the horizontal synchronizing signal and the reference signal reproduced when the head 4 scans is changed according to the tracking of the head 4, the control signal corresponding to this change is fed to the plate 7 for correct tracking. With this constitution, the best tracking can be made.
