Abstract

PURPOSE:To make effective use of the waste heat discarded to the outside of a system by heating the aq. pentaboric acid soln. in a boric acid water tank by the hot water from the auxiliary machinery of a nuclear reactor. CONSTITUTION:The hot water from the auxiliary machinery 1 of the nuclear rector flows into a heat exchange coil 11 in the boric acid water tank 10 through a cooling water return piping 4 and a hot water supply piping 7, etc.; thereafter, the hot water returns through a hot water return piping 8 to the piping 4. The aq. pentaboric acid soln. in the tank 1 is heated by the hot water in the coil 11. The aq. pentaboric acid soln. is injected into the reactor side from the tank 10 at need, if there is abnormality on the reactor side. The aq. pentaboric acid soln. in the tank 10 is heated by the hot water from the auxiliary machinery 1 and is kept at a prescribed temp. in such a manner and, therefore, the waste heat which is heretofore discarded to the outside of the system is effectively utilized.
