Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure uniform dry up without causing uneven deformation, etc., by supplying steam into a dry furnace and discharging the steam after an article to be dries is humidified uniformly substantially over the entire surface thereof and then irradiating the article with infrared rays. The article 17 is humidified by the steam and water drops in the furnace 1 are also heated by the infrared rays. The article 17 is brought into a state heated with uniform moisture distribution by the high temperature water drops. After steam supply is stopped by closing a valve 12, a valve 16 is opened and the steam in the furnace 1 is exhausted by an exhaust blower 13. When steam is supplied continuously into the passage 5 and irradiation with infrared rays is continued, undesirable deformation (warp) due to difference of drying speed can be prevented and drying operation is finished in a short time.
